I sit in the corner of the campus diner when I read and make sure the cover is visible. When ordering another round of black coffee I'll state that I wish I could put it down and get started on my assigned reading instead. The book?

The last books I bought were Conquerors by Roger Crowley, about all the explorers Portugal hired to grow its colonial empire in places the other Euros had never even heard of, and The Fall of the Roman Empire by Peter Heather, self-explanatory. I haven't started either of them, though, because I'm still working my way through Dynasty by Tom Holland, a biography of the Julio-Claudian dynasty of the early Roman Empire. I don't have a lot of time to read, though, with school and work and all. It'll be cool when I graduate and get a real job and can sit around reading all the time again.
