There was a YouTube video posted in a thread years ago that was a tracking shot following backwards a Japanese man running through a subway train, then down several streets. I think he jumps on a bike at some point. The scene ends with him arriving at and entering a house. The entire scene is scored with a song and I think no diagetic sound is ever heard. It was cool but I never found it again.

I used to work at a group home for "severely and persistently mentally ill adults" which is basically the technical term for people who are truly crazy. Most of them have schizoid affective disorder diagnosis or something on that order, and I worked the night (11 pm to 7 am) shift. Obviously, rather than do my job I would sort of nap/sleep on the couch watching TV in the living room once I was done with the cleaning. One time I half woke up to this really trippy SYFY (it was still Sci-Fi then) movie (at least it was on the sci-fi channel) that had a sort of steampunk type look with people who were or became Egyptian gods and a city full of rails so people could ride tram cars around instead of you know.. regular cars. I think it was about a detective or something. And a guy with a hawk head (Osiris presumably) shot someone or something like that.

I'd like to see that movie in full but I've never been able to find it. Every few years I recall that it exists and try to track it down.

I heard a song on google play music in the early 2010s that was either a direct cover of or used the melody of the cure's six different ways but it was done in a very modern style. I believe it didn't have any lyrics although I am not sure and it wasn't titled six different ways. It would be cool if I found it again.

Oh gently caress I thought of one. I was on a long distance drive and while bored out of my skull started scanning the radio channels. I want to say this was on some NPR station because who else would do this but there was a narrator telling a story about a spy who was under cover in the soviet union and falling in love with another spy. It sounds cheesy but it was a really compelling love story and I think I lost reception or something happened that I wasn't able to hear how the story ended. This was probably around 2008-2011. The key component was that the guy's handler knew he was in a sexual relationship and was coaching him on not falling in love and the guy was telling himself he wasn't while he actually was.

This is a longshot, but it's a music video or an animation set to a pre-existing song, possibly pixel art, that features a sunny beach town that has been wrecked by some kind of Lovecraft-y apocalypse.

It seems like you are describing the music video for perturbator- she is young, she is beautiful, she is next, but I think that's the official music video. https://youtu.be/IGqeyQhBPMI

Years and years ago, late 90s or early 2000s, there was a program on my local pbs that I think was a one off special. They went through a bunch of classical plays just giving a broad summary and it was illustrated with I think paper cutouts. What really stuck out was they kept a counter of all the deaths that occurred in each play and at the end of the show the narrator did a sum up of all the deaths that had happened in all of the plays.

This is something I remember playing once as a kid in the early 00s at the old Gameworks location underneath the Coca Cola store building.

It was like this giant four player thing where you were playing some kind of police helicopter gunner maybe? You were strapped into a chair and you had a gun on it, and you shot at this massive projection screen to clear out a floor of baddies, and then when you finished with that your chair is lifted up to the next floor and you repeat the process. I think it went up to four 'floors' or so maybe? I remember it being scarily tall, but I was also very young at the time too.

Some googling suggests this was Vertical Reality and every installation was unique. I remember seeing it at the gameworks in Phoenix as a kid but I never tried it out.

I think it was a collection of short stories I read in high school in the late 80's. One was about time travel and had a character was named Benedict. Another story, I'm pretty sure from the same book, was about some water spouts appearing that went up into the sky out of sight, the main character got abducted and kept as a pet in what was basically large gold fish bowl, but could never see his captors or anything around him. Could never remember the name of the book or the author but would like to read it again.

That sounds a lot like a mixed up memory of slaughterhouse-five

Everything in my post is probably less helpful than five minutes chat with someone living in Russia, but... What's "good quality"? Despite being filmed on an IMAX camera (says Wikipedia) it looks like it was only commercially released on DVD, so the physical product probably won't be much better than the 720p rips on youtube and mail.ru. https://blu-ray-shop.com.ua/mulytfilymi-aleksandra-petrova-korova-son-smeshnogo-cheloveka-rusalka-moya-lyubovy-dvd maybe if you're determined, they show a price in dollars and apparently ship internationally (if it's actually in stock). ("Фильмы Александра Петрова PAL DVD", like you I couldn't find the original release anywhere)

On the other hand the artbook looks amazing - e.g. https://baxmyp-ka.livejournal.com/20323.html - 1 (of 1000?) copies is on Abe Books for $200, again assuming it's actually available.

A few photos from some exhibition https://vk.com/albums-16380468 just because.

I spent way too long looking at info about that movie instead of mopping my floors.

thanks for the information, you mentioned some stuff I never thought of. I actually do know a couple people who know Russian, never thought to ask them
