that match wasn't even that bad. Vince put on way worse matches during the attitude era. So it's just a convenient excuse that frames Vince as having this eye for good wrestling and he would never sully his name by bringing back wcw. The truth is he didn't want to bring back wcw, he wanted to use wcw talent in wwf and make them all look bad and like losers so he could relish in winning the monday night wars. it was all incredibly pathetic and petty.

I think there was a 0 percent chance of fake WCW working out anyway, it would just be like when Raw and Smackdown pretend to compete against each other instead of genuine competition, and everyone would know it. Maybe it could limp on for a few years like fake ECW, but Monday Night Wars energy was never coming back, and wrestling's cultural peak was always going to come back down to earth again anyway.
