5:4 is the superior ratio for me here and the best processing with it was done by bellows lugosi. Very appropriately foreboding. 3:2 is okay, square seems too restrictive and the more panoramic ones feel out of place. Looking now at all the entries, I regret not working the image properly along with the gag. This photograph certainly deserves it, but I got so focused I literally forgot to do it. Next time!

Good photo and some interesting prep work, nice. I gave center stage to the lovely scene painted on the wall of FIGARO'S PIZZ.. Its colors are the promise of a world that might as well be a million miles away. It seems unreal. The oversized light pole, the gray sky, the cold, wet pavement... all are but a depressing, unconvincing imitation of what life could be. If only you could reach it! But an odd belt of objects surround and block your way to such a life. The open sign taunts you. You're so. hungry. Tech stuff: cropping heavily on the left side to match and balance the bollards being so close to the right border, giving emphasis to the "belt" of bushes/light pole/bollards. A 3:2 ratio helps keeping our attention where it matters. Contrast and saturation have been kept low as everything but that scene should look dull and diminished. The red food trailer messed with the narrative and had to be neutralized (could use a little work to make it more seamless now that I look at it).
