I feel like Mog gets a shoe in for best moogle because he's playable and gets use of one of the best relics exclusively. Stat wise he's bad but it makes him a good template to either turn him into a strength moogle or a magic moogle if you're willing to invest. Best non FF6 moogles: Montblanc Stiltskin Krile's moogle friend The SoM moogles Mog from ff7, the only moogle who canonically gets laid Chocobo and Moogle summon Nektar Good King Moogle Mog MiniMog, the triple triad card

I never thought about it before, but actually, ImpAtom is completely right, part of what makes a moogle a moogle is they have to in fact be at least a little lovely, like, as a person. Moogles are adorable fluffy cute creatures who are also just kind of assholes. Oh my God they are Fantasy Cats.

I saw someone point out that the Reborth moogles are put in a weird place by that game, largely because of Cait Sith and the Golden Saucer. Suddenly moogles can't look like a cute little mascot plush you'd buy at Disneyland, because there's actually a Disneyland where you'd find plushes of them, so instead they have to plausibly look like a real creature that stylized plushies and costumes would be made of. I still think they look bad, but I understand why, at least.

I think the Rebirth moogles look like they do is because the joke at the end of their side quest probably doesn’t work if they are adorable cuties instead of wretched beasties.

I’m playing FF12 Zodiac Age on steam deck, which works great btw, and just got to Balfonheim, about 3/4 of the way through the main story. I just realized there’s a 2x speed button. So much time I’ve wasted… Anyway, it still rules. I’ve never liked random encounters, so being able to just run past everything when I don’t want to bother is great. The story is kind of lacking but I like what there is of it, it’s just very weirdly paced. But it’s beautiful to look at and fun to play so it is a good Final Fantasy.

The best moogle was the moogle party member I had in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Seneca. Usually a Gunner, occasionally a Juggler, always a stone cold killer.

I am seeing so much Fat Mog erasure itt (and that tier list) and it makes me sick. Also CC moogles are loving great aesthetically, just balls of fluff. Like a moogle chinchilla. 14 moogles would also be top tier but their weird noodle-y arms creep me out. The only objectively irredeemable moogles are 7R's and 13's. Also possibly Mobius', the picture used in the tier list is p cute but then I googled it and they're like 13's somewhat less hideous cousins. Protruding tumors instead cheeks are gross as hell.
