Ok yeah this build is stupid haha

I thought I would need Kront for his attack modifier since it gives attack damage and area, but my warchief was already larger than the screen before the end of the run, so I should probably do Justice since I think her attack modifier gives the most attack damage per level?

Skimming the Wikia, it looks like:

Searing Attack and Deadly Attack give the most raw +damage%,
Merciful & Crushing Attacks not far behind for first place
Warped Attack & Rampaging Attack not far behind second place
Chilling Attack decently further back
and then finally, lmao, Split-Second Attack.

I played for a few minutes and it seems like farming is just a skin. Arbitrary visuals. The farming tools don't do what their description says: they fire a bullet instead.

There should be sprouts that chase you until you water them. So many trees growing you can't chop them down fast enough. XP gems are seeds, grab em or they'll grow into a threat.

My postillion has been struck by lightning.
I picked Death Must Die up from scratch last week and got my first Act 2 clear in about 8 hours. You don't need to grind for top-tier rare equipment to clear Act 2, but you probably do want a build that can just damage-race everything. Mort and Justice's damage aura powers both get extremely strong if you upgrade them enough; just stand near things and they drop dead in a couple of seconds.

Hostile alien creatures, termed as ‘Xeni', feed on Ether and infest planets with large Ether reservoirs. Peculiar Pilots: Choose between unique pilots with each one offering different abilities.

The balancing for Act 2 in Death Must Die seems weird to me because you're usually forced to spec into a build that will kill the teleporting insect casters and bomb genie waves ASAP rather than the bosses, because anything that deals with those waves will usually also melt the bosses. I'm sure it's intentional on the dev's part, it just seems like an odd choice to make the main difficulty spikes not the bosses. I'm also kind of burnt out after doing all the achievements and trying to max out the heat (currently at 60) so maybe I'm just biased

Boons & Burdens to v0.30 The Electromancer

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2646120/view/4212631128530220779

quote:

Stick a fork in it, because the Electromancer update is done! Or maybe don't because you might get electrocuted. I'm not here to science though, so let's talk about the game!

This is a big update, because it touches basically every other part of the game with a variety of content, assets, and a new status effect. But what's important to know is that it's only part of the picture. There are a ton of additional upgrades planned, and changes to older upgrades that will further integrate the new character and open even more synergy opportunities. I'll be adding those as soon as possible, but there's still plenty to do now, and some really fun playstyles to try out (IMO, but I'm biased).

And before I jump in and list everything out, if you've been having significant frame drops even in the main menu, today's update might help with that.

What's New: The Short Version
The Electromancer class
4 base items
4 unlockable items
4 achievements to unlock said items
14 new boons across 2 talent trees unique to the Electromancer
A new "Static" status effect, applied by Electric upgrades (more to come!)
400000 bug fixes (might be exaggerating)

The Electromancer
A rapid-fire, rapid movement style hero all about spamming abilities on as many targets as possible. This is a hero that actually get stronger the more enemies there are (to a point). But utilizing their active abilities as efficiently as possible will determine if you live or die in the late game.

Electromancer Talent Trees
Surging Sphere: A collectible item that empowers you in a variety of ways, including dealing aoe damage to nearby enemies.
Jitterbug: A new summon directly tied to the Static status effect. Follows your targeter to stay close to their prey.

Having fun with Artifact Seeker

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2510720/Artifact_Seeker/

The translation is garbage, half the characters are anime tiddy, and the loot system initially looks like the worst parts of trash arpg inventory management, but it plays smooth, the graphics are suprisingly good (zoom! some level of visual clarity!), and the (static, with some random affixes) loot system is actually set up to let you enhance your build gradually with occasional power spikes as you progress through an overworld/act map, with each level being a mini session. The UI is also overwhelming at first but there's some smart stuff in there - it quickly highlights skills affected by loot pickup, and highlights loot that affects a new skill you might want to pick up (and skills auto-level to your current skill level if replaced).

No clue if it holds up longterm, but definitely far better than a bunch of others I've tried recently

e: Level your castle to unlock higher difficulty levels, then hit the inn to unlock all the characters. Skills are split into strength (orange flex) and intelligence (blue hat) - stack all of one type until you know what you're doing. You can take a few artifacts you've recovered with you on a new run, the rarity/power of the artifact determines its cost, you can raise your available artifact points by raising the difficulty level.

The blacksmith has weapon unlocks and skill unlocks for each character, and there's a whole generic metaprog building I haven't even touched yet.

There's (free) dlc coming next week with another new character and a new talent system for all classes.

It's good, but it's super easy. Like, almost never fail easy right from the get go. Out of a couple dozen runs, the only ones I've failed are ones where the demon arena event show up in act 3 and I botch that. Been clearing on max difficulty for awhile and I have barely even invested in any of the progression mechanics, been spending all the bits on unlocks and building upgrades first. This doesn't really bother me since I am mostly playing these games at times when I want to play something but have low mental energy so it being a cakewalk is kind of ideal actually.
