Actually the popular interpretation was that the poor frogs got everywhere and then starved to death and the decomposing stench was the horror, but some interpreted this to be a plague of crocodiles. which, fair.

Most Asian live food markets will butcher on site and also do a basic cook method to them too. I’ve seen steam and deep fry.

The curse is trying to do anything nearby should they break containment. My parents built a lil koi pond that toads spawned in immediately, and it went from  to cursed very quickly when we wanted to like... walk down the driveway without tiptoeing. I closed one halfway in the front door once and it still haunts me.
