I've been having tons of lag and disconnects this past few days, yeah. After turning off all my mods and poo poo, I tried setting Launcher -> Settings -> IPv6 Network and that maybe helped? I wonder what the hosed up.

Someone explain Deimos, seems like a worse MKIV DS. I’m trying to make it work cuz I have an awesome one and think it looks cool but I’m not getting it. Also spamming L1-H1-cancel-L1-H1 is annoying.

It's all about the heavy stab attack, enough damage to 1 shot mutants charging at you, it has enough knockdown to cause crushers to fall to the ground if you aim at the head, unlike the dueling swords you can block bullets and force push can knock poxbursters and crushers on their butts at range and the aoe stagger can be spammed and make crowds of poxwalkers harmless.

Aside from the light stab > heavy stab combo you can have a perfectly acceptable horde clear with light swipe > heavy swipe which chain into eachother much like the stabs chain into eachother. the stabs and swipes alternate with eachother in the weapon chains, just do light>heavy>light>heavy for the heavy stab and heavy>light>heavy>light for the crowd swipes, though I think it's much better to just spam force staggers and dodges until you have the space for a staff attack to clear a crowd.

MKIV DS has the advantage of better boss killing damage and can kill elites by itself faster, but if a crusher is knocked on it's butt you can take as long as you want to kill it because it's harmless.

Oof, that hotfix. I'm getting mega lag in every match, and getting disconnected from most of them, sometimes multiple times in a single match.

I don't use mods and I've never experienced performance issues until now, not even during the beta. It's been pretty much unplayable today.

I've had the usual random "game freezes for 5 seconds, everything runs in place for 5 seconds, disconnect/reconnect" but since returning for the penance patch have also had the sound crackle > silence > crackle back in regularly and one of my friends is having unplayable levels of lag and a third friend had sound issues like I was.

Supposedly the last hotfix also caused shader compiler issues for a lot of people.

Yup. Extremely good for 1 shotting packs of maulers and ragers too.

Honestly I think the MKV is slept on by the general population to a massive degree. I know the youtuber guide people know how good it is but I almost never see it while quick playing. On my ogryn I just chain the horizontal heavies at head height and it absolutely mulches hordes, and obviously the folded shovel heavy 1 hits like a truck. We don’t talk about the lights.

I hope there is a patch where the Zealot chant voicelines are improved. I feel like they should sing to telegraph that they're channeling the effect but I'm not sure how they'd structure the files to let you interrupt them at any of the seven break points.

Most of the Hestia cosmetics are pretty generic, but I like the veteran's headset and pretty much all of the pre-heresy Moebian 6th outfits. I've got a full-time job and a social life, so I doubt I'll ever put in enough time to grind out penances for that 4500 drip, but it looks cool.

I pre-ordered the game way back in mid 2022, and the pre-order included some premium currency. I finally spent it on the Elysian Drop Trooper cosmetics for my pskyer just so she has utilitarian trousers.

This is basically what I ran while working on my infiltrate/weapons specialist penances and had a fuckin blast.

https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9bf392be-754a-4ea6-81b2-9e6141393b9a/sneaky-vet

If you want true Brock Sampson youll want to snip out a couple of passives and add the +toughness damage reduction and +damage on exiting infiltrate so you can feel like him reappearing behind enemy gunners and breaking their necks.

You could cut out the 4 lower left passives and replace them with Longshot, Volley Adept, Surprise Attack, and Hunter's Resolve and that would probably work quite well. Zarona can use the reload speed too.

Alright, who named their character KarkinBallTorture? That's too good, has to be a goon.

E: What do you guys like to run for blessings on Catachan Sword IV? I have the preferred cleave blessing - Savage Sweep - but undecided about shred IV vs rampage IV. This is on a weapon specialist veteran.

EE: or what about Rampage AND Shred?

That's what I settled on. Light attack, heavy attack, light, heavy. Perfectly consistent horizontal swipes. The parry is a little finicky even though parry window is very generous. Ragers usually double attack but it only blocks one hit so you will eat some damage parrying them but if a pox walker is going to swing first you can parry them and get the attack off on the rager. That kind of thing

Enjoy

Very happy with this sword, it has Rampage and Wrath. I see the primary function of the sword as 1. cutting down hordes, 2. something to give you stam while you're rescuing (very happy with block efficiency on it), and 3. last resort against ragers (love the counterattack)

Personally I prefer Savage Sweep over Wrath, since if I'm in a situation where I actually need the cleave, the "condition" is a non-issue and I'll get all of it right on the first hit. Not a huge difference, though, as they both give +200%.

Honestly, you can't really go wrong with the Devil's Claw blessings, as long as you don't double up on cleave or impact.

Yeah, Savage Sweep seems to be the meta choice for cleave blessings since it's "instantly on" after your first swing once you need it.

Do you find yourself missing a cleave blessing? I guess you could also run a perf cleave damage/cleave targets like Enjoy (although he's using a cleave blessing).

The horde isn't terribly threatening unless you get very reckless so not so much. I think your shred is building off the number of guy's you hit as well and if you're down the weapon specialist line you should have a lot of crit very fast most of the time in content. I would take brutal momentum but its not an option here.

To explain, the horde and the bosses aren't dangerous in and of themselves, mostly. The chaos and bullshit they enable is. If you don't hear the trapper and you don't see it in the horde and you're fighting away from cover you're probably dead unless you get lucky and dodge at the right time. No amount of cleave or crit is stopping that. Crit is great for I also intend to do single target damage because that's important, especially with a weapon that really benefits from finesse, not as much as a knife but still
