I've never gotten the impression of anything romantic from Laios' part wrt Toshiro/Shuro. Not even if I deliberately misinterpret all of Laios actions. I just can't see it at all. I mean. I can't really see him with anyone at all. It might not be in the cards for him, but maybe he'll find another monster enthusiast to bond with.

I went in just thinking it would be a DND-themed one note gag anime and was pleasantly surprised even before the end of the first “season” stinger. poo poo, I think it only took episode 2 for this to become the highlight of my week. Thank you for making Netflix release this weekly, Trigger.

So I finally caught up after missing the last couple episodes for various reasons, and I have thoughts: -Shuro is an irritable tool, but I'm willing to cut him some slack cuz dude has been running on Red Bull and instant ramen and maybe three hours' sleep the last week as he's speedran the Dungeon, emotions are gonna run kinda hot. -It's funny the dude finds Laios totally insufferable, but is infatuated with Falin, despite our limited interactions with Falin showing her and Laios being almost the same person. I guess when Falin goes into excitable autistic mode she's more cute about it? -Speaking of Falin, she is now the perfect killing machine holy poo poo. Like she has most of the raw physicality of the original Dragon, but also she's smart enough to cast spells. The Mad Mage now has at their command a monster that can still palm a human skull like a basketball and squish it like a tomato, but is also themselves a potent mage in their own right. Marcille hosed up, Marcille hosed up so bad. -Also, maybe the animation just drew more attention to it than it had previously in this pretty chaste fanservice-free anime, but did the chimerification process make Falin more stacked? That seems like a weird side effect

Trigger def went in on the breast bounce for Falin here but honestly I think its a place where it works. Dungeon Meshi isn't what I would call like a sexless series or anything, the manga gets horny in some places. Its just not the typical marketed to teenagers type of horny you are going to see in other anime or manga.
