If Ramirez wants us to declare war anytime we are threatened than we should have declared war after the USS Liberty was attacked by Israel during the 6-Day-War. Or mayhaps more accurately, Pearl Harbor was an unprovoked deadly surprise attack that was the beginning of a Japanese plan to take over most of the Pacific theater before USA could react. Iran's missile attack on Israel was a reaction on Israeli assassination of Iranians, it was pre-announced and it didn't cause any casualties or significant material damage. There's just nothing in common. It's like if the Soviets had decided that the flight of Mathias Rust was the exact same thing as Operation Barbarossa and thus nuked Bonn.

JamesBont posted:I never understood how "buying votes" became an actual phrase. "Oh no, the president is doing something that the people who voted for him wanted him to do! What an rear end in a top hat!" It originally referred to the practice of candidates or political organizations actually giving people money or goods to vote for the candidate. So, buying people lunch with the expectation they will vote for you actually is vote buying.

Garrison has been posting like crazy on Twitter, so he's probably not dead. 100YrsofAttitude, that's another potential source of cartoons if you want to go that far to look for them. He sometimes posts them there before they hit his site. If you're inclined to check, his account is at https://twitter.com/GrrrGraphics

And as originally planned, a diplomatic note breaking off relations and in essence declaring war was supposed to arrive on FDR's desk about an hour before the bombers hit, but due to security concerns the Japanese embassy couldn't use their secretaries who were hired Americans to transcribe the telegram into long form, and none of the diplomats knew how to type, which delayed it until afterward.

Paul Ryan's case is particularly grotesque since the man is such a ghoul even by GOP standards. Most of them don't give a poo poo about how their policies hurt people, but Ryan actively likes that, and talks about how in college he and his bros would dream about cutting social spending while drinking from kegs. It's such a gross image, a group of rich bastards drunkenly talking about how they can't wait till they're old enough to brutalize the poor, while Rage Against the Machine blasts in the background.

The woman is the leader of the norwegian political party Rødt (Red). Rødt is a socialist party that has gone from a fringe party to getting members voted into parliament. But their youth organization may hinder their success as it is a much more radical origanization, they elected an openly communist leader, they won't condemn the 7th october attack by Hamas and they are against shipping weapons to Ukraine.

I don't ever want to go back to an ICE vehicle after driving an EV for years, it is life changing better in pretty much every way. And I very much look forward to the distant future when I'm not awoken several times in the average night by some douche driving by in an insanely loud open pipe exhaust truck/suv or even lovely car where someone ripped the catalytic converter out. The city would be so much quieter and more pleasant if everyone was driving EVs.

Not an EV, but I love my hybrid for the same reasons you listed. Also there's a BLM and Woke logo there, just to cover all the bases of being an awful person. It just feels like conservative cartoonists have a dart board full of buzzwords and logo and whatever they hit, they add it in.
