Off the top of my head Israel gave us the Microsoft Kinect and ICQ. Lots of tech innovation and work in sustainable energy. They also have a fuckton of money and political capital, a ton of Jews live in the US, and they don't wish death to America like all of their neighbors.

But ignoring all that, we should protect them because it's the right thing to do, not because we have something to gain. What was the point of WW2 if we're gonna ditch them on your say-so?

If that's the case they then should cut the poo poo. Everyone stay on your side! But Hamas hopped the fence first so Israel is probably saying they're doing this to have some breathing room. Even if it is a land-grab, Hamas gave them an excuse. At least a better excuse than whatever Putin came up with.

Food for thought:

The amount of democrats saying "actually... Israel should gently caress em up even more" has gone up 2%. Maybe that's margin of error but wow. But overall it's still 50/50 with Americans. That's not gonna be enough to change anything. Status quo wins again methinks.

Hamas sucks rear end and Palestine doesn't deserve their awfulness but they also do not deserve Israel and their genocidal murderous everything. Even if Hamas gave them excuse, who loving cares you shouldn't take any excuse to do evil. It doesn't make you good.

Also I really doubt they'd even hear the case if they weren't going to overturn the lower court.

There's a huge chance they won't overturn the lower court because ruling that presidental immunity exists in such a broad way is a huge removal of the SC's power. However, they would probably be quite happy if taking the case and then ruling against meant that they could delay the trials until after the election.
