Also interesting how poorly considered ATV riding broke his toe and they had to shoot around that. I didn’t understand the appeal of Billy Crystal let alone how someone could injure themselves laughing at him doing a voice but guess the 80s were a different time.

facialimpediment posted:I'd be pretty confident that Donnie truly has $100m in collateral (that goes with the bond) if poo poo goes fully sideways. The 1-2% in bond premiums would also probably cover the slam-dunk legal fees too. Donnie's also never gone personally bankrupt, only through his companies, and has lots of randos ready to give money (Saudis/Truth Socialists). Even as a paper billionaire, he does have collateral that can easily cover $100m. Still don’t quite understand why an elderly evil GOP mega billionaire isn’t covering all his bills, plus an extra few billion for his campaign to buy up every atom of tv & radio ad space until 2025. Would be a rounding error on their balance sheet & would probably get ten fold back in tax cuts plus get to see their insane governing ideas enacted plus a medal of freedom if they want.

bird food bathtub posted:I'm seeing it as the bond company investing in the upcoming kakistocracy if Donnie wins. Front the cash now and if Donnie takes back the big chair back they can be on his good side and get their investment back when the copper is ripped out of the societal walls in an orgy of looting and plundering. Relying on Donnie to show loyalty and pay back those who got him where he is, is a stretch at best given loving everything about him and his past actions but there's an infinite line of idiots fully willing to believe they are the special ones that will be able to corral a narcissistic dementia patient. Decent odds a few GOP state parties will have every penny diverted to trump & have so many neglected bills someone probably will end up ripping copper out of their foreclosed HQs.

I’m no expert but really hoping that pulls more from the right than the left, the most ardent anti-vaxxers I see on FB are evangelical.

Remember when he helped kill off the family tax credits that lifted millions from poverty during the pandemic & drove away in his Maserati? Still ridiculous that despite being who he is, he did regularly support Biden judicial nominees & sometimes would vote for critical bills so getting that level of usefulness from a WV senate seat that will be dark red when he retires is a bonus. Kinda like how the Democrat Louisiana governor was pretty conservative on some issues but vetoed the worst bills, and with him gone they’re bringing back the death penalty.

I’m inclined to think no way Boeing would be insane enough to kill off a whistleblower then remembered eBay recently responding to mild criticism by sending cockroaches & bloody pig masks to their house & it ended up with multi year prison terms for some eBay management, and will probably result in a nine figure civil settlement.

Or, he potentially pulls a Dan Snyder and eventually makes money by faking a loss: Not my favorite team owner, I remember when he was suing fans who tried to cancel season tickets during a recession as he had an IMAX theater installed on his yacht. His refusal to spend on not having FedEx field being a terrible turf that injures players probably ended RG3’s career early.

Torrannor posted:I recently learned that there's a Jones Act equivalent for dredging ships. So no foreign dredging ships allowed. And the absence of competition allegedly led to the US dredging fleet being woefully outdated. On a similar note WA state is having serious problems with the ferry fleet having a lot of boats out of commission & a bad law like that about sourcing where the ferries have to be made domestically (and only recently changed it so doesn’t have to be in state) but there’s like only one company that still does that and it is not a speedy or cost effective option. Meanwhile north of the border, British Columbia has no problem maintaining their fleet as they can source from Germany.
