I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

I thought Ronaldinho played for a lot of teams in his twilight years, but goddamn, Best has him beat by a mile. From 1982 to 1984, he went from the US to Hong Kong to England to Australia to England to Australia to Northern Ireland. He played for multiple teams in different leagues in some of those stops as well.

MLB Network is doing a documentary Wednesday night about the mid-90s Indians that kept just falling short of glory, called "The Dynasty That Almost Was".quote:On Wednesday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m. ET, The Dynasty That Almost Was tells the story of the 1990’s Cleveland Indians teams that electrified baseball and their hometown. After years of sports disappointments in Cleveland, the film highlights how the team came alive in the 1990’s and turned around the perception of the city. With the opening of Jacobs Field in 1994 and a star-studded lineup featuring the likes of Albert Belle, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Carlos Baerga, Kenny Lofton and Omar Vizquel, the Indians were one of the most explosive offensive ball clubs ever assembled. They won six of seven division titles, sold out a then-Major League record 455 straight home games and went to the World Series twice. They were confident, they didn’t care what other teams thought of them, and the city of Cleveland loved them.

That team was one of the best teams I've ever seen in any sport. I still don't understand how they couldn't get one World Series out of the 1994-2001 era. I still have this irrational hatred of the Florida Marlins to this day. Don''t know if I want to watch it just on the risk of being triggered over Jose Mesa, but this project sounds great.

I think my favorite one was told by former pitcher Chad Ogea, who was in LA for a rehab assignment during the OJ Simpson Bronco chase. Ogea claims that [Manny] Ramirez thought *he* was the one in the Bronco, and not OJ Simpson.

CLE was the best regular season team by SRS in 1995 and 1996 (#2 in 1994 and 2000). The MLB playoffs are a crapshoot though especially in a five game series.

Mike and the Mad Dog ep is real good, in my opinion. I'm kinda shocked by some of it, but also not?

I can never relate to what you went through, but as a Phillies fan who watched Jose Mesa in September during two separate playoff races in the early 2000's, I have an idea how of painful watching him pitch is.

The way they blew up on callers with hot takes was some of their best stuff. Also the only thing that shocked me from that was Francessa having his own convention at Irving plaza.

30 for 30 did a pod on the Crockford's club baccarat edging scandal involving Phil Ivey. It is super interesting if you're into that stuff. It, much like the Ivey profile on the ringer (which is also fantastic) are probably coming out now since Ivey has a supreme court case coming up next week to get his 12 million back from the casino, who refused to pay on grounds that they say he cheated.

This actually sounds pretty cool. I remember the story coming up a couple years ago. It'd be neat to follow up on.

I'm watching the 30 for 30 for Calipari and I get why people complained it was a Cal commercial but it's interesting. Also now I get why Sam Cassell was yelling like a maniac during his head coaching in summer league, he's totally influenced by Cal.
