33% of people get cancer during their life times. If we stop giving them healthcare, and stop funding for a cure, there will be no cancer.

Which 15% of the population do you think he's referring to? Is there some easy way to identify them, perhaps with a paper bag?

Speaking of math, Hannity and a few others like to extrapolate the number of people killed in the Hamas Israel attack by saying it would be the % population equivalent of like 40,000 dead Americans. But it got me wondering what 33,000 dead people in Gaza would amount to if they did the same trick. Naturally, none of them have run the numbers that way. Let's just do this USA Math to make an already horrible attack seem even bigger!

About 5.2 million.

I think we learned from COVID that 1 million dead Americans is child's play and an embarrassing low ball to them.

I'm proud(?) to say that even reading this thread and keeping up somewhat with right wing media bullshit, I still don't know what 'DEI' is. 'CRT' and 'woke' were all over the place, but maybe this latest attempt fell flat.

To be fair, draconian policies on crime do actually work pretty well to reduce crime; see Singapore and Japan for examples. That being said, it's really loving unethical, and expensive as all poo poo.

FlamingLiberal posted:DEI is just those bare minimum corporate diversity initiatives which don't even do that much anyway. This is offensive to very racist people. They're also powerful ops to prevent the glorious socialist revolution that would occur if minorities weren't being paid lip service to diversity

I almost like these new "DEI" terms because its quite helpful to know the moment someone starts talking about it like its some cabal controlling the world you can write them off as a batshit racist and move on.
