Their plan is to stash him on IR if no one claims him. He may or may not get claimed.

He's far too young for the Falcons to show interest, although he is establishing the injury history so who knows!

You don't have to waive players to put them on IR.

He can be twitter buddies with Roddy White.

Nobody move and nobody gets hurt.

Anybody have any decent safeties on the bubble? The Colts' ill-advised gamble on starting Delano Howell is looking even less brilliant now that he's consulting a specialist about his neck injury. I doubt he makes it to the season before going on IR.

Just had to draft Ulrick John in the 7th, didn't you Grigson?

You do at this point in the season if they have fewer than 4 (I think?) years in the league. It's why the Colts haven't put Vick Ballard on IR yet, because Billy Fiveaces would snatch him up to troll us. Once cuts are due it's a different story.

Roddy should just delete his account, although lately his tweets seem to consist only of "whatup world". He did make good on that stupid NCAAB bet recently though! :science:

Waived/Injured — Teams are able to waive an injured player. Other teams can claim any player on the Waived/Injured list. If players clear their waivers, which most players do, their original team can either put them on the IR list or come to an injury settlement agreement and part ways.

I really hate that he's not playing safety. Last year he was killing it before his injury and there was all sorts of poo poo coming out about his work ethic and effort to start loving with opposing QBs, and now he's a very poor nickel.

If he's not sending hookers to their hotel rooms the night before the game LT style then he's doing it wrong.

The Jets put Dexter McDougle and Shaq Evans on IR without putting them on waivers.

You only have to expose a player with less than 4 years experience to waivers if your roster was already at 90 and you wanted to sign another player.

The Jets are essentially keeping them rostered until cutdown day, Aug 26th, and then they'll officially move to IR.

Last year before his leg exploded he had been doing tape study to see what tendencies qbs had when the safety was further off or cheating to one side. He was hoping to be able to bait qbs into thinking he was doing one thing presnap when he was going to do another.

Just little things to give him an edge. He was also getting right into the whole "leader of the secondary" thing teaching the young guys stuff. Then his leg explodes and we whack him at nickel.

Maybe Florence has enough in the tank to come back after getting cut and he can switch back.

So rookie slot receiver and punt returner Jalen Saunders got into a non-vehicle accident on the way to the Jets practice facility on Friday. Police said he had a "medical incident" that caused him to go off the road and was conscious when medical personnel arrived. He was held at the hospital for monitoring and released yesterday. Rex already ruled him out for Friday's game as a precaution but they still haven't said what the cause was.

Seizure? Either way it doesn't bode well.

This guy makes Jeremy Kerley look like Calvin Johnson. He's TINY. Looks like the jets will get nothing out of the 3 WR's Idzik drafted this season...

Hey Ravens fans, how has Steve Smith looked during the preseason?

Sour Diesel
Jan 30, 2010

He dropped one easy pass and the entire receiving corps was not getting open against Dallas in week 2, which is a little concerning since A.) Dallas defenders and B.) Preseason man-coverage

But I'm sure he'll help the team a lot, I'm not used to having more than 1 sure set of hands on the team. Steve, Pitta, and Rice should mesh well with Torrey and Jacoby taking the top off of defenses.

Smith really hasn't done much in games but has been constantly talked about as the second coming of Jerry Rice in practice. Watching the games you can see how he has such a ingrained tendency to come back for the ball, which probably helps when you're a 5 foot tall receiver.
