Today I said goodbye to my old TNT2 Riva. I left it with the doorman for recycling along with a 5200 FX. I know I didn't use the card for 10 plus years but seeing it again I remember that I played the hell out of Quake 3 Arena on that card. It was used on a 486 that survived well into the 2000s as a dumb terminal so I could use my PC while my brother played wesnoth on it. What is the gaming piece of hardware that stayed the longest by your side and maybe is still on your house?

Congrats on being less of a spergy hoarder, I guess! Like the pretty heavy handed moral from the Sierra Madre casino from the hit DLC "Dead Money" from the bestselling video game "Fallout 3 II: The New Vegas" says: Just let go.

Pretty sure both my NES and first-gen Gameboy still work. Also I have an operative Play & Watch Donkey Kong game, which is even older, but I'm not sure if it really counts seeing as it originally belonged to an older cousin of mine. In PC terms I've a Monster 3D lying around for purely nostalgic purposes.

zen death robot posted:Keeping old PC parts is kind of weird, it's not like they're very useful or do anything special that can't be done in a VM or on modern hardware. Old consoles I get, and old non-"PC" computers I get as well. Even though you can fire up a C-64 emulator it's still kinda cool to see someone still has a working one now and then.
