Yup The Bugle is pretty great. I also really like the BBC news bulletin thing they do every 12 hours. It's a pretty good newspaper front page in audio form

Right now the this American Life people are doing this podcast called 'serial' where they follow a murder in Baltimore. It's not over, and it's pretty interesting. Wait wait don't tell me owns. If you like old timey broadcasts, there's something like 40 years of ' The Big Broadcast' an old show on NPR. You can follow the exciting tales, of 'Johnny Dollar, the insurance investigator with the golden expense account.' Action packed I tells ya. Stuff you should know is p interesting. If you like X-files, there's a guy that's watching all the episodes and is jabbering about them. I'm going to nth Hardcore History (check out his archives too, great stuff) and 99% invisible.

https://www.hpmorpodcast.com Harry potter fanfic that's actually worth a drat. Get into the nitty gritty of science and rationality with a proportionate amount of fan service. The author is almost done writing it and has recently hid away on a vacation in a cabin that was financed by a fan of the series. If you enjoy scifi and fantasy and satire and fun then harry potter and the methods of rationality might be for you.

It's really good. http://ancientworldpodcast.blogspot.co.uk/ a really solid podcast on the ancient world. He's also done some revision episodes which are all about the people who discovered the ancient sites and peoples, good stuff. http://historyofengland.typepad.com/ really drat good podcast on the history of england which is ongoing.

A Life Well Wasted lasted 7 episodes before the guy abandoned it but it's pretty interesting. It's about people who have been involved with videogames in some way beyond just being a player/fan, for example the first episode is all people who worked for EGM talking about their time there, he interviews the desert bus for hope people and also gets Penn Gillette to talk about the desert bus game itself, talks to professors whose research overlaps with video games, etc. The connection to video games and video gaming is pretty tangential a lot of the time, it's really all about the people he interviews, but it's interesting hearing them tell you their stories (also it's cut together well).

indoor kids - video game podcast with kumail nanjiani (silicon valley, meltdown on comedy central) and his wife emily v gordon. it's a video game podcast not by spergs, so a lot of people on here hate it. i recommend the one with tom lennon for a trial. it's a pretty great episode, even if you don't care much about video games (tom lennon doesn't play them anymore). harmontown - dan harmon narcissistically rambling to a live audience every week. they play dungeons and dragons at the end, for about 1/3 or less of the episode. i don't listen to that part. i recommend starting with the one called 'dan takes a bath'. that was the first one i listened to, and it still hasn't been topped.

Judge John Hodgman. John Hodgman is a fake internet judge, presiding over actual disputes between friends or family members. It's usually hilarious (If you think John Hodgman is funny), and occasionally really heartwarming. Like the one where a father wants his daughter to be more outgoing because she didn't take the opportunity to talk to Eugene Mirman, and then John actually brings Eugene in on the conversation. Oh No! Ross and Carrie. It's about two people who investigate fringe science, spirituality, and claims of the paranormal. They're both solidly skeptics, and they have a good chemistry on-air talking about their exploits. Weird cults, penis pumps, ghost hunters, juice cleanses. The Cracked Podcast is usually great, if you're into those dudes. Freakonomics Radio, Radiolab. Seconding 99pi and Hardcore History.

The X-Files one is the X-Files Files and that is also Kumail Nanjiani who is wonderful. I haven't listened to it yet because I'm going to re-watch the episodes and make a whole big thing of it.

I also listen to Unpopular Opinion from that site but I don't know if other people would think it's any good. It's pretty much just Adam Tod Brown talking about his opinions and how everyone who disagrees with him is wrong, and he has guests on.

F Plus Lou Reads Hour of Slack "Bob"s Slacktime Funhouse is amazing. Susie and Lymph Node Institute put out some of the best weird media around, and amazing themed comilations. She just did 2 episodes of nothing but Song-Poems, and once did 2 hours of every awful cover of Dawning of the Age of Aquarius she could find. re:Joyce as I try to hack my way through Ulysses. National Cynical Network does amazing 3 hour sound collages. Doug Stanhope Sometimes I check in on Nightvale, but I like it best for late night stoned walks in the dark.
