i've been driving a 96 tbird since 2006. it had ~85k miles when i got it and now it has just over 190k. it's been really solid and pleasant to drive, although now it's getting old enough and worn enough that i'd rather put money towards a different car

the bitch of it is that the 3500 that got that tbird doesn't seem to get as nice a car any more. i guess the used car market really got hosed up between the economy going into the shitter and that cash for clunkers thing a few years ago. i guess maybe i just need to resign myself to dropping something more like 5500 or something like that. idk.

it's a power supply for the car so while it's on display at carshows or a dealer things like the windows, door locks, sunroof, etc can be used without draining the battery

i've got a few things on the cards, sister in law just picked up one of my children for kindergarten then i need to go INTO TOWN to go grocery shopping then I should start studying for my exam tomorrow. Most of these things will be accomplished with the use of a car, which mine is a Hyundai. Bog standard, but good enough for me. Boy the zip of that diesel motor! boy oh boy!

THe used car market here is getting better. In 2011 I bought a 2002 Corolla for $7K, hosed up. Prices have come down a lot.

I'm starting to see cars that move under their own power going for like $900-$1500, which would have been unthinkable four years ago.
