hello internet posted:Before launch of KSP2, I was excited about the new UI but once I played it I couldn’t stand it drat, really? Launching KSP1 after a long time away is painful mostly because of the UI. Clunky, ugly, often unintuitive. Improvements there would have been huge for me.

it's bizarre that there's no UI reskin for ksp1, it really has aged quite a bit.

mmkay posted:So with the news I dropped KSP2 from my wishlist, but it got me wondering - what was it missing to have feature parity compared to KSP1? Off the top of my head: robotic parts, EVA construction, alarm clock, transfer planner, the ability to offset crafts so they spawn off the pad, multiple launch sites, maneuver fine tuning, different astronaut roles, resource mining / fuel production... and probably a few more things I can't remember. Things 2 has that 1 doesn't: procedural wings and fins, painting parts, a much bigger VAB, one big editor for both rockets and planes, orthographic view, multiple pads at the KSC, an in-game list of dv requirements, better graphics... and probably a couple more things I can't remember.
