Mother 3 is one of those games you have to give time to. It's admittedly very very slow starting off, but it gets you sucked in as it progresses, but yes, the music is the best I've heard.

The pacing wasn't really the problem. My laptop literally stopped working right as I was getting into it and I just haven't had the time to sit down and start again, really. Edit: on a Kirby-related note I played through the original Dream Land for the first time the other day. Super short, but I liked it. It took me a while to get used to using no power-ups, too. Its rhythm attack thing is pretty cool and you can still do well in the game even if you suck at said mechanic (like I did). However, you really need to overcome quite a bit to start to enjoy it such as waiting for over an hour for the main game to start as well as how painfully linear it is, even compared to 2. Just finished the story and as fun as it was it feels like such a great aesthetic was wasted on a game where you're stuck looking at the tablet screen the whole time. I spent the first couple of worlds trying to look exclusively at the TV but had to stop at a point and then I was a little bummed out the rest of the time
