Don't put points into luck, they said.

It's a useless stat, they said.
Edit: Go here.

Dungeon Fighter Online (Dungeon and Fighter Online in Korea) is a 2D massively multiplayer beat-em-up in the style of Streets of Rage and the D&D arcade games. The game's PVP is a popular e-sport across the Pacific, the PVE is well done, and you can play pretty princess dress-up with your character.

It was previously localized by Nexon, who single handedly ran the game into the ground and eventually shut the servers down. The story of Nexon's failure is spectacular, and ended in them introducing a replacement for the game's Fatigue system (a system that reduces the amount of XP you earn if you play a single character for too long in one day) with the Blitz system (reducing your drops rather than your XP). The Blitz system allowed bots and gold sellers to run rampant now that they could mass bot characters to the level cap in a day, Nexon failed to police the game, and it was eventually canned.

Neople, the game's Korean developer, saw there was still a large following for the game outside of Korea. They tested the game by bringing the servers back up last year for a short time, and afterwards announced they would go ahead with the development and production of a global server. The company Nexon does own Neople, but the Nexon of America that botched the last version of the game has nothing to do with this new release.

Here's what we know about DFO Global so far:

  • We will be getting some amount Season 4 content. NA DFO ended in Season 2, so expect a lot of changes to the game.
  • Dark Knight and Creator enervated classes confirmed. Neither class is able to be taken into PVP because balancing is hard.
  • Knight, Female Slayer, and the Kunoichi advanced class for Thief are still up in the air. They'll probably be in the game, or close to release. Probably.
  • Male Fighter and Male Mage both made it into NA DFO, so we'll have those if you missed out on them previously.
  • The game audio will include Korean language. Neople ran into time issues dubbing the game, so we're likely either getting 100% Korean or English dubbed main characters + original Korean language NPCs.
  • There will be multiple servers. No information if it's multiple general servers, or regionized servers (NA, EU, SEA)

In all honesty, this is Neople's first attempt at producing a game, much less localizing one. Expect the servers to ignite and bad things to happen. They communicate a lot through their facebook page, so that's your best bet for staying up to date on the game news.

This is what I get for searching half-asleep. :v: Shitpost, disregard.

Also saying Nexon is cool now is like saying the guy who poured a gallon of water in your gas tank is cool now. Sure, he's cool, but you're still warranted in hating the poo poo out of him.
