The Imperium server is an Everquest Emulator server that was designed for people to play that didn't have the time to play something like live or Project 1999. The server has faster XP rates, and the content is scaled so that you can solo your way to max level, currently 75. Raids are also balanced so that they can all be duoed, with some soloable if you have the gear. The content currently goes through the Gates of Discord expansion.

To Play:
Download the Everquest Free-to-Play client from Steam here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/205710/ and follow the guide here: http://wiki.eqemulator.org/p?Play_Guide:_Getting_Started for the Rain of Fear client. You just need to download the client, create an account on the eqemulator.org site, and edit the eqhost.txt file in the Everquest folder. If you play on any other emulated server like Project 1999, you can login with that account. Once you have the client installed, your account registered, and the eqhost.txt file modified, login and scroll down the server list for the Imperium Server.

Features:
  • Faster XP rates - the game is tuned so you level as you do the content.
  • Higher caps for all stats.
  • Gear is scaled up so that the content is soloable/duoable.
  • Maximum accounts logged in at one time is 2 - with 2 bots per account.
  • Bots are available for those that never want to group.
  • Spells and skills scribe everytime you level up.
  • #zone command available to speed up travel.
  • Most items are tradeable.
  • MQ2 is allowed except in Hardcore mode.

New playstyles:
  • Hardmode instances - Scales up zones to go from solo/duo difficulty to group difficulty for that level.
  • Individual progression - you have to clear a tiers raid bosses to get keys to unlock the next expansion/raid tier. This applies to each character individually.
  • Hardcore mode - You can optionally enable hardcore mode. This will give you one life - if you die, you lose all gear and are reset to level 1.

Additional information:
The server forums are located at: https://imperiumserver.boards.net and the server website is https://imperiumserver.org. A wiki, leaderboards for hardcore mode, and more is available at the site.

David wanted you to have this.
Been having a good time exploring old world dungeons and zones. Server is highly stable and pretty easy to play solo with just a little bit of time. I've seen a lot of EQ I never got to see on live. Pretty crazy imagining people doing some of these dungeons.
