I just binged through this miniseries. Can anyone that has read the book shed some light on what exactly happened to the pair in the end? Or what was up with the raven kings book?

The show just assumes you know who Raven king is, what impact he had on English history and rolls with that. They explained it perfectly fine. Norrell laid it out pretty clearly when he was doing all his rants about what his mission is and why he isn't a fan of the Raven King.
