I mean it's funny but it vendors make that kind of mistake all the time. I'd bet you that when you select a prefix in the system, it is supposed to cross check mr or ms against gender. except they made male the default for all prefixes so if you are a female picking a gender neutral prefix you get that message then the company who built the interface requires an expensive support contract to fix the issue because that's not what you asked for
