It's good to pursue outdoor activities for health reasons, but it's also good to play the latest videogames, which have quality of life advantages such as saving and online multiplayer. Here are some ways to combine video gaming with the outdoor life and get the benefits of both:
  • Run extension cables out of the house to power a TV and console or a PC on an outside table.
  • Have a special powered gaming station installed in your garden.
  • Play games on a mobile phone, tablet, laptop or a handheld console such as the Nintendo 3DS or Sony Vita.
  • Play games inside, but with the window or door left open.

What games do you think are a good experience outdoors?

if you get a toy gun or even just a stick if you can't afford a toy gun you can sort of practice first person shooters outside; around your town, in the woods, that sort of thing.

It won't be as realistic, obviously; but can be good practice

Some of the older Garmin GPS units like the 60 actually had built-in games, one was a memory game - flipping cards to find the matching symbol, but you had to physically move to where the cards were. That was actually kinda' fun. (You could set the grid size from ten feet to a mile wide.)

If to live in this style is to be eccentric, it must be confessed that there is something good in eccentricity.

A friend of mine downloaded some app that populated Google Maps with zombies while we were driving, and it seemed like a great way to get into a car accident.

"Sorry officer, zombies almost had me surrounded, I had to make the tough call to gun it through that light."
