I went to this place called the Granite Dells a couple times with friends, and it's a bunch of rocks like this where you could just wander around and scramble to the top of everything without ropes, and spend hours wandering around climbing things. One time here I shimmied up a slope with a 100ft drop below me, I don't think I'll do that again in my lifetime but it was really thrilling at the time. Rock climbing with ropes and gear looks fun and leads to less injury probably but sometimes you just want to explore and climb, like a real frontiersman. Talk about bouldering and your favorite places to boulder

Bouldering is awesome! The town where I live has a George running through post of it there's lots of climbs and bouldering to be had in the. Fun story my school was just a quick walk away and on grade 11 I went bouldering in my break and tore the arse out of my dacks, I didn't realise this until I had walked back and a mate told me. Good thing I wore undies!

I went sorta-bouldering in the Valley of Fire near Lake Mead in Nevada. I think I read afterwards you aren't supposed to do that, but gently caress it. It was all kinds of fun exploring all the little gullies.

Does scrambling along ridges count as bouldering? I'm doing striding edge (https://www.thebmc.co.uk/how-to-scramble-striding-edge) in April. Also next time I'm in the area I'm going to do the Snowdon horseshoe

Nope, looks like mostly class 1 hike with a section of class 3 scramble. Really a difficult hike. But it looks awesome though, have fun. Bouldering is actual climbing with rock shoes. https://youtu.be/CBWElHdRuVY https://youtu.be/elMxeGiS3Og

The Rat posted:The Vedauwoo area in Wyoming is pretty rad for this. I didn't know Vedauwoo had much bouldering. Lots and lots of rope climbs though. Might have to check it out with the pads.

I spent a day climbing around on rocks there. It was fun. Went till I was lost and out of clif bars, then eventually made my way back to my car.

I like bouldering too! My favorite place to boulder is up in Chaos Canyon in Rocky Mountain National Park, but I don't live in Boulder, CO anymore and thus no longer have endless climbing areas surrounding me.

Bouldering is shameful but I do it anyway because it makes my bod look the hottest compared to a trad bod which is kinda dumpy or a sport climbing bod which is lanky.
