Remember when TVIV got together as one and we all watched Adam Lambert sing his heart out and watched Danny Gokey remind you over and over that his wife died? No of course you don't. But its dying now (the show not the late Mrs. Gokey again). Coming to an end. The fat ladies that have sung will sang a song one last time (but not on the finale as audience voting gets rid of fats and uggos pretty quick). All that will be left is wondering who if any of Idol's overpaid parentage will care to stain heir careers enough to show up for one last goodbye during a dozen more renditions of 'Hallelujah'. Which illustrious names from Idols past will turn up to show the flag and collect a small appearance fee? DioGuardi? Lythgoe? Dunkleman? Pants On The Ground Guy? None of these questions yet have answers. All we do know is that FOX was contractually obligated to air this season, that this thread will die faster than the solo career prospects of Anoop Desai and that you probably have better things to over the next dozen weeks worth of Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8/7c (the same of which can probably not be said of Paula Abdul) But should you choose to stay, here is our starting lineup of people making incredible sums of money to speak noncommittally about bad singers and to not gag when asked by one of them for a hug.   And your contestants, already loaded up with the diesel fuel of the Idol Machine, inoffensive white guys with guitars who are sandwiched between freakshow acts that go through as well these days because fuckit, we can shoot a mid-point episode where we load some losers onto a bus in the middle of a derelict warehouse.

Rest in Peace Idol, your genuinely crazy people and your pretending-to-be-crazy-in-order-to-be-on-television people will be missed. PS: I hope Phillip Phillips gets paid for his work soon.
