why don't the amish use dial up / 56k for internets? you can't get porn that way so. and it's the ancient way to internet so it fits with their belief system.

i guess the sticking point is electricity because that is the devil but you need it to make the internet work. so i guess maybe they could set up a lightning rod and pray a while and god will give them some juice. i mean i'm sure it's totally cool to internet if god sends you the electricity to internet.

at its core, the amish way of life is more about striving for simplicity, and less about whether anything is evil

so I could see an argument for primitive email or usenet/bbs, but certainly not the world wide web

i think the amish could benefit from their own network, separated from the https://www. they could call it...amishnet.

think of how all of the amish ladies could trade sewing and cooking recipes. and you could get shunned...electronically!

but then some clever english hacker will hack into their amishnet and then steal all of the recipes and sewing tips and then the amish mafia will come and...oh god.
