That's why retail tax preparers make fortunes every year though. Anything tougher than a 10-40EZ is beyond many people. Even the EZ form for some. And for those who do self file many use Turbo Tax and just take whatever number it tells them without thinking.

Why do you think a flat tax is perennially popular, despite being dumb as hell?
