Their new content has been great so far except for whatever the hell Ian Hinck's first episode of whatever that was is. I hate it but I love it too. Looking forward to Huber's show starting next week and it looks like their first review goes up tomorrow. Good times.

Two new Patreon goals have been added - more equipment for E3 coverage, and a new trailer review show. In addition, IGN has acquired the GameTrailers brand, and has begun uploading old videos such as Retrospectives and Backtrack to the GT YouTube channel. The site is gone, now redirects to the channel. Oh, and Michael "Pop Fiction" Damiani has rejoined the team in LA. https://www.patreon.com/EasyAllies?ty=h https://www.twitch.tv/easyallies/v/67078318 https://www.youtube.com/user/gametrailers/videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V0I46FycXI

For what it's worth, Kyle Bosman streams the original Game Boy version of Tetris every Friday night (Saturday morning) for an hour and a bit starting at 12 AM pacific time. He's attempting to beat Steve Wozniak's (now out of date, but still impressive) high score. The show is pretty silly, with all kinds of catchphrases, alternate music, and improv bits, but there's some solid Tetris to be had too. I missed tonight's stream, but you can always catch the replay on Twitch and YouTube. Also, it appears that I haven't mentioned Easy Allies' new website and forum! The website has schedules that automatically adjust to your timezone, and the forum updates in real time! And as for the aftermath of the E3 bets (the results show is in the post above)... Part 1 Part 2 Epic conclusion! Synthetic Hermit fucked around with this message at 10:52 on Jul 16, 2016 |

Considering your keeping a thread going where you're virtually the only one posting, yeah, I think most people can help not loving them. I mean, it's fine if you liked GT and it's content, but get some perspective. No one cares that GT went away, they were barely relevant in their heyday, let alone recently.

1UPs death was more culturally significant than the death of GT, and that's just about the saddest thing I've ever heard.

Again, thousands of people paying thousands of dollars each month because they missed these guys. The higher tiers get their names read out loud by Brandon Jones once a month, and it's hundreds of people that take him several minutes. I post updates here not for the hardcore fans (because they know already), but for anybody not familiar or who had a casual interest in the past but forgot about them.

Kyle Bosman makes good shows / has an interesting outlook on topics. Retrospectives are awesome, as always. I wish they would bring back something akin to Pop Fiction, or a developer post-mortem lessons learned interview type thing. I could lose the live streaming in favor of other content but I know I am in the minority on that one.

Blister posted:If they're as popular as you say they are then they'll show up in related videos A large portion of the related videos that I get are clickbait. GT had some stuff like that, but the Allies eschew it. What I'm doing here helps to make up for their unfortunately honest marketing.

Finally, the second episode of Game Sleuth (Pop Fiction 2.0) is done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3HkeGNLEU8 No new discoveries in this one, rather an excellent summary and time-consuming confirmation of one of the biggest mysteries in recent times. Also, Kyle Bosman's got a side segment on Geoff Keighley's (former host of GT.TV) show LIve with YouTube Gaming.

TheScott2K posted:At what point does this qualify as spam? Well, let's see. They release about 5 videos a week plus stream archives. The above was the first video I've posted in over 2 months, and it's a betting special of which they only do about 3 a year. So...not even close.

It's just weird seeing this thread pop up like GT has shut down, only to then remember that yea, they shut down about a year ago and it's just you posting that a YouTube channel you like has posted another video. If the thread is about the channel, post a thread about the channel. If it merits discussion it'll be discussed. If not, take the hint.

I could make a new thread for Easy Allies. But for now, I prefer using this thread for context. They'll have their 1 year anniversary in a few months, that'll be a good time for a new thread with a condensed summary of events.
