Upgraded to the new Chromecast, which is literally called New Chromecast. Looks like an expensive ($58 AUD) oreo. It took me a few hours to set it up when I got it because it doesn't let you use proxies (which I had been using for Netflix) as well as cast to the TV. Is there a workaround for the proxy issue (aside from using Plex)? I've found a few cool ways to use it, like having audiobooks playing while we're cleaning the house, or playing CastaDraw which is essentially pictionary with a phone and a TV involved. My old Chromecast was only really used for Netflix but I'm finding myself using this one more and more. It's a huge change from my 1st gen Apple TV, which I found spent more time loading than actually playing content, plus only worked with my Macbook Air. Chromecast works with my Mac, Nexus and whatever other devices my boyfriend wants to use. For someone not too tech literate, I found the setup pretty easy aside from the Netflix issue. Thoughts? Did I waste my money? Is 58 bucks too much to spend on streaming hi-def selfies straight to our living room?

You can't set up a proxy connection directly on the Chromecast, you have to do it on your access point or router.
