Can't find anything about that. Only that the final decision by the PT federation/UEFA will be made on the 31st, but it might not matter as Aves stadium doesn't meet UEFA regulations.

If a club qualifies for a UEFA club competition on sporting merit but has not
undergone any licensing process at all or has undergone a licensing process
which is lesser/not equivalent to the one applicable for top division clubs,
because it belongs to a division other than the top division, the UEFA member
association of the club concerned may – on behalf of such a club – request an
extraordinary application of the club licensing system in accordance with
Annex IV.

I think this is it? Not sure it's even the same process, whatever

Small team, small stadium, small budget. Got promoted last year, most thought that they would go down again, ended up mid table and winning the PT Cup so they overachieved like crazy.

Edit:Though going to Europa League directly would be huge due to Tv rights, sponsors, and prizes.

So it comes down to our corrupt federation to intercede on their behalf. This is even worse!

Meanwhile, Bruno de Carvalho has removed Sportings support to it's ultras, Juve Leo, and also filed a missing report person with the police about his daughter cause his ex-wife hates him and bailed on him this weekend

This intersection between bruno de carvalho personal and professional life is really weird, like following the exploits of pt barnum but also with acess to his private affairs that look like a mexican telenovela. The fact that he uses his private affairs for pity points is even worse.man, facebook broke the brains of a lot of people.

So tropical shitstorm Sporting is still going strong, a general assembly was called for the 23rd of june to vote if bruno de carvalho is fired or not.

Now, i personally believe that bruno de carvalho is a deranged narcisitic megalomaniac, but its becoming increasingly clear that this sporting crisis is actually a coup by two of the money men to try and take control of sporting(note: one of the money men lives in switzerland because he would be arrested on sight in portugal for money laundering, tax evasion and bankrupting a bank.you know.a perfect bussiness partner.) .the concerted atack in the media is one of the most relentless things i have ever seen.
So,and much to my surprise, i find mysrlf rooting for ol green juche, because hes a deranged narcisitic megalomaniac thats pissing off some of the most corrupt rich men in the country.
Fight the good fight, you crazy bastard.

Oh and benfica and sporting did some signings and porto sold a really good RB to leicester, whatever.

While if I were a player I'd definitely also go for just cause, as a fan I can't help but laugh how this option only became one because of opinion pieces and newspapers. Some random dude brought it up on a panel and it caught like wildfire.

I've seen a shitload of cases where hooligans invade training grounds or hit players and I've never seen this be presented as an option. Clubs would have a pretty small lifecicle if a player could just leave the club like that without paying anything to have their pass back.

I mean rival club's fans might pay some randos to go gently caress poo poo up and boom, whole rival team is gone.

Anyways, U19, you're up!

Being a Sporting fan is at the same time the shittiest and wildest most exhilarating ride.

Yeah, all bets are off.there are non zero number of fans proposing to leave the club and founding a new one. Sugestion: name it "the real sporting please stand up fc". While the training center invasion was most likelly the ultras acting on their own, they did it because they had a sense of impunity, in great part because they had the backing of bruno de carvalho. While there have been other invasions at other clubs, the board of those clubs imediatly repudiated them, and stood by the players. In sporting , the president of the club not only tried to pass it off as bussiness as usual , but further implied that really, the players had it coming. Thats whats diferent.

Meanwhile we are now at six players who have rescinded their contracts, with possibly more to come, and in a hilarious twist, sporting fans , who previouslly boasted they had the best youth setup in world (hint: they dont) are now calling for its extincion because all youth players are traitors.

Anyways, the president of the general assembly suspended bruno de carvaho, and this is a pretty naked power grab.

Take a good look at those names and realize that a serious important portion of a World Cup winning candidate team might win it all without being affiliated to any club.

Sup ladies and gents. Sportings general assembly to decide if bruno de carvalho is fired or not is coming to an end. Sporting associates have been voting all day with no incidents and conflicting reports are coming out about what the result may be. Meanwhile , several ultras and bruno de carvalho suporters are congregating at the stadium and are planning on marching into the general assembly. This...uh...might get bad.

Edit:aww bruno de carvalho lost 61-39 , and is no longer sportings president.
Edit 2: of couse, all of this will be contested in the courts for yeaaaaarssss. Man, i hope sporting gets two presidents, like the pope and anti-pope.

UEFA Nations league. I checked the English/German/Spanish league and they have matches in the dates of the Nations League, so I guess games will be delayed moved around, while here in Portugal folk simply decided not to book games for those dates.

They are very corrupt ,op, id say a 0.9 on the Porto scale, worst case scenario.

Fine ,fine. So you may or may not know that Benficas internal email was breached and some hacker basically stole all the clubs internal correspondence from like 2008 until 2017.a couple of blogs started releasing them and the oficial fc porto spokesman started railing against benfica, because although there is no straight illegal poo poo in them, there are a bunch of morally dubious poo poo in them.now a bunch of stuff happened, benficas president is also accused in a bunch of unrelated cases for corruption and tax evasion, and benficas legal advisor is accused of bribing a court official to get inside info on all the cases against the club.now ,because all the email leaks started fizzling out, a lot of anonymous tips started raining in, from the judicial police branch in porto against benfica, and the club is basically raided every week by the judicial police, while the judge signing all those search warrants is a massive porto fan and may or may not be connected to their ultras.meanwhile a news magazine tracked the original hacker down, embarassing every investigative branch of the police who managed to do jack poo poo about it,and the guy turns out to be friends with one of the dudes in portos official channel, and may or may not have sold them the email files.the latest round of emails sugest that benficas legal advisor may or may have not required the aid of escorts for some bussiness dealings.

Theres also a bunch of police investigations against benfica, porto, and sporting for 1)buying oposing team players to lose matches 2) buying oposing teams to win matches against their rivals 3)buying oposing team players just in principle.

This is only like 10% of the poo poo that's happening.

Its.loving.hilarious.

Post something then

All the cases involving Benfica from last season are still ongoing (especially the one where they got their e-mails hacked, exposing a lot of shady stuff, including exchanges of private information about referees and people in high places in the federation, league etc just read previous posts) but right now they're under a lot of heat because of a specific one, called "e-mole" in Portugal, where they have been officially accused of bribing court officials so they'd get them confidential information about ongoing cases like the e-mail one, Sporting and Porto cases etc The police and prosecutors have been particularly diligent in investigating this case because it was their private network that was infiltrated by these Benfica moles, and because they have photographs and e-mails that prove Benfica lawyers were bribing those officials. there's already been arrests. Benfica's sole defense to this has been that the police investigating them are Porto fans, the judges authorizing these investigations are Porto fans, the prosecutor who decided there was enough proof to officially accuse the club is a Porto fan, the hacker who leaked their e-mails is a Porto fan etc This might sound like a really dumb and insane excuse, but there are a lot of Benfica fans who actually believe it. Just look at the post above mine. Sad.
Also Benfica's president was supposed to be interrogated by the cops/prosecutors last month, but the day before he was scheduled to be interrogated he went to the hospital and said he was having memory issues and needed to be admitted. So it didn't happen. Benfica fans also think this is completely normal and could happen to anyone, nothing wrong here

Electronico6
Feb 25, 2011

First things first. Benfica is cool and good, and also clearly innocent. This is all a big witch hunt.

From the email case I fully expect it to end with some benfica SAD dude taking the fall for all the crimes and Vieira stepping down as president once things calm down, the club itself is not going to get any real repercussions, too many people connected to political parties and national government involved.

The match fixing case is all going to be pinned on the little clubs and individual bad faith actors from these clubs because lol if the 3 big clubs are going to get in real trouble for this.

On the other hand i legit think that football is a escape valve for all the insane populist and fascists, so i would much appreciate it if they stayed contained there instead of making GBS threads all over our daily lives.
