Believe it or not Garth Brooks released an album in 2014! It was released only on something called GhostTunes and its songs very rarely got any radio play.

Which is too bad - because it contains Garth's true masterpiece song - People Loving People.

How, you might ask, could this song be better than Friends in Low Places, The Dance, The Thunder Rolls, etc?? Well let me tell you via an analysis of the lyrics below!!!

quote:

Doctor you ain't got a pill
For whatever s making this world ill
You can't get forgiveness at the store
And peace it's a politician's war
You won't find no resolution in the bottom of a bottle
In the stars or Aristotle
The only answer to the problem is

Holy poo poo! What a start! Covering a list of modern ills, Garth tells us straight up, they aren't going to fix jack poo poo! Pretty much no matter what you are doing it is wrong, so listen up, because the answer is coming!

quote:

People loving people
That's the enemy of everything that's evil
Ain't no quick fix at the end of a needle
It's just people loving people

It's as simple as that. You don't need drugs, you just need to start loving other people. You can't deny it either, think of how much happier we would all be if we just stopped being ding dongs and loved one another??

quote:

Words aren't what they seem to be
Talk is cheap and lies are free
We fear what we don't understand
And we've been scared since time began
All the colors and the cultures
Circle 'round us on a spindle
It's a complicated riddle
But the solution is so simple

Watch the wordsmith master his craft with these lines, it's beautiful. Here he gets down to the root of this problem where people are not currently loving people, which goes against Garth's advice that people should in fact love people. We are scared! People are different and weird and sometimes even icky! It seems complicated but it is not! Because, again:

quote:

It's people loving people
That's the enemy of everything that's evil
Ain't no quick fix at the end of a needle
It's just people loving people

*shaking head up and down to indicate agreement*

quote:

You can pawn it off on kings and queens
And those behind the curtain
Say one can't make a difference
In a world so full of hurting
But I believe the remedy
Starts right here with you and me

He drives home the point here, you can't wait for someone else to do something, you can't think this problem is above you, you just have to start loving people! If we can all do that, it will fix everything!

quote:

People loving people
That's the enemy of everything that's evil
Ain't no quick fix at the end of a needle
It's just people loving people
It's just people loving people
It's just people loving people

BEAUTIFUL

Bravo Garth, bravo. Many years from now, when people talk about Garth Brooks, it won't be Unanswered Prayers or Callin' Baton Rouge, no... it will be People Loving People. The most underrated song of this millennium.

ALSO: If you are wondering where to hear the song - you will need to buy it on GhostTunes. It is very un-loving people like to try to steal Garth's music or listen to it for free on youtube, so he scrubs all of that stuff, as is his legal right.

Some guys I used to work for always called him Barth Gooks and said that Merle Haggard/Alan Jackson/George Strait had more country in their butthole than Barth had in his entire fat body.

That is a similar song yes, but I think we can all agree that Garth expressed the sentiment much clearer and more poignantly than those uh, I'll call them drug addict hippies to try to be nice.

Yes, he explained it much better for the new times we live in.

God bless Garth - he really took his own advice on this one. Yeah, he could have taken the credit, but why not spread the love to some other folks and let them take the writing credit?

You've really proved my point!

You are now a slimy little toad
The Great Twist
I don't mean to hijack this great thread, but I thought maybe we could use it to talk about other country song lyrics as well, like "Holes in the Floor of Heaven", which sounds really cool but turns out to be a bunch of sentimental bullshit like most country lyrics.

One day shy of eight years old,
When grandma passed away.
I was a broken hearted little boy,
Blowing out that birthday cake.
How I cried when the sky let go,
With a cold lonesome rain.
My mom smiled, said: "Don't be sad child.
"Grandma's watching you today."

"'cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven,
"And her tears are pouring down.
"That's how you know she's watching,
"Wishing she could be here now.
"An' sometimes if you're lonely,
"Just remember she can see.
"There's holes in the floor of Heaven
"And she's watching over you and me."

Seasons come and seasons go,
Nothing stays the same.
I grew up, fell in love,
Met a girl who took my name.
Year by year, we made a life,
In this sleepy little town.
I thought we'd grow old together,
Lord, I sure do miss her now.

"'cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven,
"And her tears are pouring down.
"That's how you know she's watching,
"Wishing she could be here now.
"An' sometimes if you're lonely,
"Just remember she can see.
"There's holes in the floor of Heaven
"And she's watching over you and me."

Well my little girl is 23,
I walk her down the aisle.
It's a shame her Mom can't be here now,
To see her lovely smile.
They throw the rice, I catch her eye,
As the rain starts coming down.
She takes my hand; says: "Daddy don't be sad,
'cause I know Mama's watching now."

"'cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven,
"And her tears are pouring down.
"That's how you know she's watching,
"Wishing she could be here now.
"An' sometimes if you're lonely,
"Just remember she can see.

Oh dear, that is a bit much. But I'm sure the person who wrote it was just trying to express his or her feelings as best they could. God bless them!

Yes, he's a bitch-titted shitkicker that isn't even worthy to lick the mud off George Strait's boots.

late 80's/early 90s country was kinda odd. Even people like George Jones, Loretta Lynn, and Tanya Tucker were doing semi-pop songs. I personally blame it all on Reba and the fact that Cash more or less didn't exist during those years.
