You're more likely to find a gamecube component cable in goodwill than a cheap jtaggable 360 in 2016 that hasn't been the victim of a badly-done xclamp/rrod fix or other horrors that xenon and zephyr consoles were exposed to reset glitching does everything jtag mods do, only better

Somebody hacked my PSN account, and spent $150 on NBA 2kwhatever fun bucks. Less than 2 hours after I call my bank, PayPal and Sony to let them all know what's going on. My bank says "alright shouldn't be a problem to fix." PayPal said the same thing, but they also locked out my account, which I cannot reactivate due to being a bad adult and having no ID. Sony deactivated my account for about 5 days, and said "if this happens again, it's your fault." gently caress you Sony. I've been a good customer for 15+ years, and you're going to throw away that customer loyalty over $150? gently caress you. My next TV is going to be a Samsung. When I finally replace my old and broken reciever, it won't be a Sony either. I used to be a Sony fanboy despite your problems. Not anymore

Like you have to power on and off your 360 a bunch of times before it boots every time. Also you need to buy a mod chip. Any of this true? Are there any benefits? I do gotta give Sony props on how hard it is to mod the ps3. Even today it's virtually impossible unless you have a launch unit new in the box.

CaptainSarcastic posted:Protip: Consoles are bad. Consoles aren't even consoles anymore. You've got to pay to upgrade them, there's different versions, and they are clearly quite literally just prepackaged PCs with a gimped OS, esp. the Xbox One which is literally a prepackaged PC with a gimped OS.. Given all it takes to convert a Xbox One game to a PC is to support some more video cards, a new installer and maybe if you're lucky some new icons that don't reference the Xbox One controller it's not hard to see how Microsoft came up with the "Windows shares all exclusives" idea. PS: A lot of people think that was for the customer, but it wasn't. It was Microsoft's attempt to lure exclusives from Sony. Because if you develop for the Xbox One as an exclusive deal you can rest easy that your install base will actually be bigger than the PS4s by adding PCs into the mix, and the PC version of games can linger on stuff like Steam for decades bringing in money. It was a genius move from that perspective and if Sony was smart, they'd immediately allow their exclusives on PC too; Microsoft can't block Sony games on Microsoft Windows, so there's nothing stopping them except pride against allowing things on a Microsoft platform. Any of this true? You need a chip + a couple power conditioner risers on a per-console basis, but the bad boot rates come from first-gen chips and chinese clones back when rgh was just starting to be a thing, but current chips work fine. it's a huge pain in the rear end if you've never soldered, but if you want the most bombastic dash replacements, it's a lot more viable than jtagging. r-jtag setups are also a sidegrade option if rgh hacks look convoluted as poo poo, which they are, and why I'm perfectly fine with ixtreme over both options

I kinda miss my dead gay classic Xbox with the classic transparent glowing green aesthetic for a background. The only way to play some of my favorite Xbox games is only with the original console RedLetterMedia 's deconstruction of Sony and Adam Sandler movies were a real eye opener. Also agreeing that Sony quality in products is gone.

Heh, you are right. I started a new job selling electrical appliances and most people have no loving idea what to pick or what is worth buying. Most folks just ask for 4K and have no clue about upscaling or that most channels won't ever broadcast in that format in the next 10-15 years. Can't complain, at least I can afford to spend money on dead internet forums. EDIT: To keep on topic, nobody bought a Sony product yet, except Play Stations and accessories for it. That's two months since I work there. yogizh fucked around with this message at 08:43 on Sep 7, 2016 |

Uncle at Nintendo posted:It is really annoying seeing Sony shilling in Sony-made movies. Like in a Sony-made movie everyone is using a Vaio laptop. Bothers me in a "conflict of interest" kind of way lol It'd work because it's an erratic pattern of letters rather than words sequenced together. If it's something like abc or 12345 it'd be easy to guess still.
