So La Canfora said that Mike Shanahan might be hired by the 49ers to oversee the football side of things. Florio then said A)Isn't happening, and B)It was a rumor that started with Shanahan in an effort to get his name back out there. So La Canfora is still a hack, but the end result makes me sad. Bring back the tomato!

What you really have to watch out for is the leaking poo poo to the press when he's unhappy, and I figure he'd have plenty of reason to be unhappy with the Rams. So that'd be fun.

What rookie quarterback is Shanahan accused of destroying? The only real stain on his QB record is the weird infatuation he had for John Beck. Otherwise, he got good years out of guys like RG3 and Jay Cutler.

Snead's not good but the biggest problem with the Ram's roster has been the coaching staff's complete inability to develop any of the players they draft, particularly on offense.
