I think maybe wesbites just dont have the same integrity as they used to. keep me logged in just doesn't mean what it used to

serious question but why do some websites keep me logged in literally forever (i have a laptop i have been using since 2009 that has never once asked me to log into SA or reddit in the 7 years i had it) but some forums like KLOV (arcade-museum) literally asks me every loving day? i have it set to "remember me" so i don't get it.

some sites don't set expires or max-age when creating cookies so they last forever e: also they prolly don't enforce a max session age server-side i guess

the password storing is done client-side by ye browser. however i think there are certain ways to make it not do that thing...

yeah i know what you mean. i only save passwords for dumb work poo poo and it just doesn't work on some stuff. HP stuff usually (iLO, ALM, virtualconnect)
