I usually try to start both my characters with the regeneration spell, but you can get a regeneration book at the first water/air magic vendor most of the time. There is also a warfare(?) healing skill that works well but is low range and has a longer cool down. Mass heals come later and have a much higher int/water requirement. The biggest imbalancing factor in this game is that there are so many useful level 1 spells with really low requirements. Regeneration, malediction, and Bull Rush can all be used with 1 skill point in their required skills and 7 points in their required stat and they are all super useful.

Hey, you randomly failed the conversation with no skill or actual player input whatsoever. Just the game going gently caress you nope you don't get to do it this way. This seems to be broken. That trapped cellar can be a pain if you don't notice the traps in time and you have 4 characters to keep track of while they path around like headless chickens and everyone starts taking fireballs to the face and bad things happen. That's a terrible escort mission by the way, if you don't notice him sprinting off on his own you'll fail it.
