Instead of a bus stop on the back straight could they have done something fun with it instead? Run into the infield a bit? I guess it would end up with problems getting onto pit late, but the track seems kind of plain.

That's the problem with rovals, they need all that other infield space for parking/camping/trailers/equipment/personnel. Anything resembling a proper road course section would take away too much of that space. Which only really leaves room for a glorified chicane.
