I'm the $50/month on "paper goods", which apparently doesn't include toilet paper since there's a separate line item for toiletries.

I would like to learn that one trick to getting a free $1,000 phone. (And then I'd like Apple to make a phone I want to buy again, like an SE2... The fad of zomg huge phones has really culled my desire for a new phone [paid for with cash, duh, I live what I preach] annually like I had from 2008-13 + 2016.... So thanks Apple, you're making me better with money by not offering a product I want, I guess?) Inept posted:I haven't had a job for a year in a half and we have a shitload of debt. Amazon is prepaid for the year so I need to see about that. We really need to break the ticket contract for basketball. Saving $310 a month would be amazing. quote:$3500 for the whole season. Is it viable for my SO and I to purchase a house? https://snew.notabug.io/r/personalfinance/comments/abnczu/is_it_viable_for_my_so_and_i_to_purchase_a_house/ The comments make me think it would be entertaining: quote:$40k in credit card debt makes it a very bad idea to buys house, even if you could qualify quote:40k in cc debt, 10k car loan, and you're thinking about buying a house? that's a definite no.

UCS Hellmaker posted:how did not have a cpa after all that experience and time? Jesus its almost tax time when he could be making BANK I worked with another accountant who is a very nice guy and a hard worker and fine as a real estate accountant (pretty low level tasks). Anything that takes much thought was above him. However, he has had NO problem staying employed and making pretty decent money - he's definitely above the $55k/yr level today, he was right around there when he worked for my employer. He studied and failed to pass any exams, he is no longer attempting them. /rant TLDR:I think that dude on Reddit is an idiot. He should have NO problem finding and keeping a job. I suspect he can't pass the exams. If he somehow got a masters without having the required credit count, he's a real brilliant guy and the loop back to why he's unemployed continues. I know gently caress-all about AZ's actg job market, but I have a coworker who lived in the PHX area and he said it was drat easy to find a job and he was always being harassed by headhunters... E: http://removeddit.com/r/Beginning_Photography/comments/8y5vdh/what_are_these_lenses_best_used_for lol he's into photography. The gear he's talking about wasn't very expensive back in 2009-10 when I was buying some basic DSLR stuff, but it's VERY loving EXPENSIVE if you've been unemployed for >1yr when you're looking at it! http://removeddit.com/r/Accounting/comments/8i9y17/job_duties_of_a_senior_accountant/ quote:No excuses. Am I a horrible accountant?Advice(self.Accounting) - 7mo ago http://removeddit.com/r/Accounting/comments/8ieqb8/am_i_a_horrible_accountant/ quote:I feel like an idiot in my new position. It’s my 4th day here. There is no training and my boss/coworkers aren’t throwing stuff my way when I ask so I don’t know what I am supposed to be doing. Ive spent the last 4 days just looking through files for 8 hours a day. I’ve looked over the COA and some month end binders they prepare but I really have no idea what I’m looking at. There are excel files with 10 tabs on some of them and it’s hard for me to see where all the data is coming from/what they are linking and tying to the TB. There are flux analysis documents - which I’ve never prepared and don’t understand amongst other more complicated excel files pulling data from JEs and the TB. It’s making me question myself and if I even know accounting at all as everyone else seems to know what they are doing even if they’ve only been there more recently. I feel so inadequate here already. Any advice on how to shake that feeling? quote:I am the senior. It’s my first senior role after being staff for 3 years. quote:I’ve tried the SALY method but because I’m entirely new to this type of industry, I’m not sure why exactly they are doing certain things or how to pull them. Normally SALY doesn’t let me down but she’s not great to a noob right now. quote:Started an industry job that an external recruiter found for me. I’m here full time M-F 9-530pm so far. It’s my third day. My manager is working remotely and I don’t have anything to do similar to the last 3 days. I’ve looked through the chart of accounts and have reviewed some items I’ve been CC’d on to understand the process. I’ve asked my manager if I could sit with Someone just to have something to do and she never got back with me. I am having a hard time passing 8 hours here with literally nothing to do which makes the day boring. Everyone else around me keeps talking about how they always work late and how they have a ton of stuff to do but I don’t see it. They talked about leaving at 10pm for a quarter close. I don’t mind putting in some extra time when there’s stuff to do but I’m not a workaholic trying to do 12 hour days and I don’t want to be guilted into it. I’m thinking this may not be for me. Any advice on staying vs leaving? quote:Sorry, it’s more of two separate issues. The first being as a new hire they haven’t provided me anything to do and haven’t followed through when I’ve asked for stuff. Because I have nothing to do currently, I am leaving after my 8 hours - which is what I prefer to do anyways when things are busy but as they stand I’m flat out bored. I’d like to actually be busy during my 8 then leave. I'm an analyst (sr accountant level at most companies I think) and I've trained many people higher up than me. We don't expect someone to know EVERY detail of how we do tasks, no matter their experience. Granted, a properly formatted/referenced workpaper should be pretty self explanatory, and if it isn't, it should be overhauled... Training others has enabled us to overhaul a lot of workpapers because someone will have comments that are really valid. On the flip side, I've asked higher-up sr. analysts how their reports or workpapers are built, and they send me the file and tell me to figure it out because they've been SALY'ing for years and have no loving clue. I can dig in and figure out whatever is happening because holy gently caress that is part of the job (understanding how the entries/reports work, and make sure its meaningful, not just SALY!), but of course sometimes things can take some time because stuff can be complex... One more on collectible cards. Not so much directly BWM as WTF with Money: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2018/12/11/is-that-menendez-brothers-background-an-old-mark-jackson-basketball-card/ quote:Is that the Menendez brothers in the background of an old Mark Jackson basketball card? quote:A 2008 Tuff Stuff basketball card price guide set the value for the 1990-91 Jackson Hoops card at either 5 or 10 cents, depending on whether you consider him a “common player” or a “minor star," and one can purchase an entire box of 36 unopened packs from the 1990-91 Hoops set for $12 on eBay. But the apparent presence of the Menendez brothers on the card has caused its value to spike. Even though the Action Network’s Darren Rovell reported Monday night that eBay has started to take down the listings for the card because it does not allow items that are “affiliated with” murderers to be sold, a number of the cards still were being offered on Tuesday morning, with prices starting at 99 cents and rising steadily from there, with one seller offering a lot of 30 for $344. Modern US leftists are literally the softest bitches on earth and the only risk they pose you is that you'll drown in their tears as they cry themselves to sleep in DSA branded Sherpa blankets (who are still somehow not as soft as they are). Serious discussions of massive income and wealth inequality routinely devolve into discussions of anime and Magic the Gathering so you know if revolution would cause even "mild inconvenience" these cowards aren't up for it. edit: I should probably clarify that I don't mean people with progressive politics or Democrats or liberals or whatever you identify as if you're not an utter ghoul, I mean the real "anarchosocialist" poo poo that would be required to create an actual factual revolution based on inequality.
