Just to put this into perspective: Sunderland got me than twice as much money for the TV rights than Bayern got in the Bundesliga.

 there's loads of people who have lived in Germany in the Midwest. quite a few companies trade employees across the Atlantic and it's a popular destination for graduate school residencies.
