If you just say it's performing "very well" and "beating milestones", then that suggests you don't have something more concrete to brag about in a way the public would appreciate. So, you just say it did well, point back to the simulator fights, and raise your eyebrows knowingly in the hopes that the people in charge of funding nod and make the assumptions you hope they will.
