Would you folks happen to know what on earth could be causing this? I'm looking at the thread template, and I'm not sure if there's any additional information that would be helpful. No recent changes, Windows 10 64-bit, Skylake i5@2.30GHz, 8GB DDR3, Googled "bulge." I'm worried that might be where the battery is located, and it's getting ready to pull a Galaxy Note 7 on me.

That looks like the location of the battery, so yes I believe your laptop is Note 7ing and you should back up any files that are important to you, put it somewhere non-flammable and where the smoke won't kill people, and contact the manufacturer.

Dell seemed rather unconcerned it would catch on fire and murder me, but everything's backed up and it's being sent off for repair.
