IV was my intro to the series so I can confirm its a good starting point, getting to the bottom of naraku and the great boss battles before that hooked me. but you definitely can't go wrong with Nocturne or any of the other PS2 classics either.

you know i might already have nocturne on ps3 from when they kept putting all those games on sale for $4 i was triggered by flashbacks of being the poor teen in the small town game stop checking out the two beat up copies they had that were still $45 Chilled Milk fucked around with this message at 22:57 on Oct 23, 2017 |

Oh man the first time I read through that I didn't realize they were adding more conditions to contracts. Being restricted to certain outfits and only being able to escape through specific exits adds a lot
