Ask me about my love of genocide denial!
Hi

My S.O.'s laptop has suddenly stopped seeing any wireless device. This happend after it went to sleep yester.

In device manager it shows the wireless card (an Intel AC internal card) with an exclamation. When we click on it and tell it to up date the driver it finds it (using both online and just look at computer) but it will fail to load the driver. We have tried restarting, installing rthe HP drivers and Intel drivers to no avail. After it says it can't load the drivers it moves the wireless to unknown devices.

It does this with two different USB wireless devices as well, shows a problem with the device and then when trying to get the driver it fails to load.

We have rolled back to a restore point the day before this happened and still no joy

Anything to try before a full restore?

Try shutting it down completely for a little while.

Also, I'd try an earlier restore point if possible.

Have you tried to reseat the card? Sometimes they are easy to get at, sometimes not.
