there should be somethingawful plus membership that just adds an icon to your username and maybe a private forum i'd pay upwards of $2 a month just to keep this place going, $3 is of course way too much

if you mean the spacing around the descenders, thats been common in typography for decades if not centuries. most font rendering engines support it, some old ones dont. i guess  got updated
