Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

Title says it all.

My build is an i7-7700k with an Asus Prime Z270-p motherboard, an EVGA GTX 1060 and an EVGA Supernova 650 PSU. I'm trying liquid cooling for the first time so I'm using the Cooler Master Liquid Lite 120 thing and I've got 16 GB of DDR4 RAM courtesy of G. Skill or whatever it is and I want to use a Samsung Evo 850 M.2 drive for the boot drive, but I can't even get to the bios without the ssd installed. I've gone through that Tom's Guide list of common mistakes already, I've tried it with and without the GPU, I've tried one stick of RAM and tried it in all four slots and I've tried both DVI and HDMI from both the motherboard and the GPU, but I get nothing. My monitors report that there's no signal when I plug them in, as well.

Any ideas?

Edit: When I power the machine on, all of the fans go on, I can hear the liquid cooler start up and basically every LED inside the machine goes on.

INSTEAD I AM GOING TO WHINE ABOUT IT IN OTHER THREADS SO MY OPINION CAN FEEL VALIDATED IN AN ECHO CHAMBER I LIKE

Did you plug in the GPU powercable?

Yup. The only cables I had running from the PSU are for the CPU, the Motherboard and the GPU.

Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

My dad looked at it while I was at work and thinks the motherboard might be bad, so I'll exchange it for another one and report back.

Swapped the motherboard and it's alive! Got to the bios and everything!
