Is that just a proposal? My Spanish isn't good enough to see if this is "proposed", "happening on this date," or "happening right now, muthafuckahs". Like I see that it's a plan for 2019-2024, but does that mean it's actually starting right now?

my bad, upon closer reading it is not actually describing a bill but instead a policy document that his office presumably wants his party to flesh out in the legislature it seems more or less the executive laying out its own priorities for its term and it is officially sent to the legislature similar to how the US state of the union address is officially delivered to congress morena's coalition of course controls both houses of the legislature too Shear Modulus has issued a correction as of 20:46 on May 3, 2019 |

anyone else hear about this whole cancer medication protest that’s happening? A few people I know that know I voted for amlo are saying they’re withholding medicine or something but I feel like they’re scraping for anything?

The REAL Goobusters posted:anyone else hear about this whole cancer medication protest that’s happening? A few people I know that know I voted for amlo are saying they’re withholding medicine or something but I feel like they’re scraping for anything? It's some nightmarish stuff, there's been some budget cuts due to "austerity" and cutting down corruption, these cuts affected the "Seguro Popular" (which was one of the free public healthcare programs) and the budgets of various free health sector programs (oncology screening, mental health institutions, and public hospital budgets). You can't sign up to the Seguro Popular anymore, and it doesn't cover as much diseases as it once did, when I was doing my medical social service, they used to have a program where every child below 5 years could have free treatment for everything, but it seems that's not the case anymore, this especially affected pediatric oncology cases. According to AMLO, the decline in medication isn't because of budget cuts, instead blaming the pharmaceuticals distribution methods (PISA pharmaceuticals). Another cause of this is because apparently, other med distributors were associated with politicians, thus, they were corrupt and had to get rid of. Funny thing is, on thursday he said "if the patient doesn't have money to buy the needed medicine, the doctors and nurses should be obliged to do so". This of course caused the ire of a ton of colleagues, since the budget cuts AMLO passed affected everything from medical interns/residents paychecks, to the supplies of every hospital. Interns/Residents do basically all of the work to keep hospitals running, so this wasn't exactly a good idea. There was actually a peaceful protest from affected medical residents a few months back, and there was another one from social service medics at the beginning of August, and I think this was "resolved" (as in, they got an agreement, which has not been completely honored). The health industry has been having a very bad time since AMLO became president, and sadly, the most affected are the lower socialeconomic groups, as the budget cuts affected rural clinics (no more rural doctors, and dwindiling stock of medications). We weren't exactly well stocked two years ago (I remember buying and giving out a ton of Acetaminophen, Losartan and Metformin to my patients, since we got a measly ten boxes per month sometimes, for a community of 2000+ people), but according to some social service doctors, these days, about 90% of their patients go home empty handed. There's more stuff that's happening that's upset people who voted for AMLO (me included), like budget cuts to our science and investigation institutes, unskilled people getting hired in positions where they shouldn't be (IIRC there was some guy that hadn't finished his college degree and was hired as the subdirector of CONACYT, the chief who hired her, believes GMOs are unsafe, and is vehemently against them, despite scientific evidence to the contrary), and an uprise in violence against women (with multiple instances of policemen sexually abusing said women).
