I played a lot of KC:D1 but never finished it; I'm surprised we're playing as Henry again. It wouldn't have been my first choice but I'll greedily play any sequel, the first game is unique and I'm excited to see what they do with more time, money, and development.

Yeah this will be a good excuse to go back and actually finish out the expansions etc. with a modern graphics card.

Be prepared to be somewhat disappointed. I've been playing it recently on a 4080 and it rarely reaches 120 fps at 4k with geforce experience's recommended settings. Rattay can get into the 30s. I think this is one of those games that's just too rough around the edges to allow any hardware to run it flawlessly.

If I remember correctly it's quite CPU heavy too, so just throwing a big GPU won't necessarily help.

Weird, it ran at constant 120/4k for me when I tried it yesterday (unless performance drops a lot after the prologue?). I have most stuff on High, with just a couple things on Very High. Maybe the recommended settings are setting everything to Very High?

I did a little testing yesterday and I got ~120 fps running up and down rattay on a horse on my old save at high settings @v1440p on a 3070, but I do have a 13700k as well.

hey now
Having shadows higher than 'High' absolutely murders performance IIRC.

I did 1440p with max settings and maxed out view distance on a 3080p and it runs fine.
Dips down to 70s on some spots, otherwise stays around 100.

Looks really pretty too.
