i used a xenforo forum and it is really good. it has customizable alerts and replies/quotes work and bbcode is optional and so on and so forth. it's just really nice

search is still totally broken, though, still, in the year of our lord 2018. some things cannot be fixed as long as you use mysql i guess

so, uh, how about that xenforo migration
