Lift Your Little Paws Like Antennas to Heaven!
My favourite micro-genre is zeuhl, pioneered by Magma in the 70s, it combines opera, jazz fusion, prog and trance-rock. There's a few others, like Koenjihyakkei (my favourite band), Dün and Eskaton.

Another micro genre I love is pronk, or progressive punk, a contradiction in terms that the editor of NME did everything in his power to prevent from becoming relevant in the 80s.
